For years Nascar has had father-son duos racing. Richard Petty and his father Lee. Richard and his son Kyle. Dale Earnhardt Sr. and his sons, Kerry and Dale Jr. Many of these duos have existed. The most recent ones are Chase Elliot, son of legend Bill Elliot, and Ryan Blaney, son of Dave Blaney. The most recent, that is, until now.
Ross Kenseth, son of Sprint Cup champion Matt Kenseth, will make his Xfinity series debut this year at Chicagoland, racing for Joe Gibbs Racing. Ironically, that is also Matt’s team. He will be in the no. 20, (his father’s number), and will be sponsored by Dollar General, (his father’s sponsor). They have a lot in common. The elder Kenseth has been teaching his son for years, and now he will have the privilege of seeing him make his first Xfinity start. We may need to keep an eye on this duo for the future.
