Kyle Larson Update

It was Saturday afternoon, one day before the STP 500 at Martinsville, when Kyle Larson was signing autographs at his merchandise hauler. Suddenly, Kyle fainted. No one knew why. He was taken to the hospital immediately.

Larson remained in the hospital untill Monday. However, there was some concern on whether or not he could race yet. Fact is, in other sports you can pass out, and it isn’t dangerous. But in Nascar, if you pass out at 170 miles per hour, that can be very dangerous. It could even be deadly.

However, Kyle has been examined, and as of now he has been cleared to race again next weekend. Larson was replaced this past weekend by Regan Smith, who did pretty well in the no. 42 Chevrolet. Larson is not the first driver to have been sidelined this year. Kyle Busch is out due to a broken leg and foot. Brian Vickers is out due to blood clots. And Kurt Busch missed the first three races this year due to some off track problems. Ironically, Smith also substituted for Kurt.
